In an effort to reach out to smaller Physician Practices across the state SMRTNET has partnered with key Oklahoma Physician Associations to bring HIE Services to practices across the state.

Through partnerships with Oklahoma State Medical Association(OSMA), Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians(OAOP), Oklahoma Dental Association(ODA) SMRTNET is looking to bring HIE services to smaller practices in different specialties.

Health Information Exchange services are a key role in a practice’s ability to meet Meaningful Use Requirements. SMRTNET brings HIE services to smaller practices in different specialties through this initiative.

SMRTNET provides an easy to fill out form through the main web site for members of these different associations to be able to sign up for HIE Services as a member of one of these Associations .

HIE Benefits

SMRTNET has developed a more streamlined process for registration to activating HIE Services to make activating the services easier for practices. Registering through any one of these Associations has several benefits including an HIE service discount with SMRTNET.

  • Nationally Recognized - Named one of the top 12 HIE’s in the nation through ONC project to National eHealth Collaborative (www.nationalehealth.org)
  • Featured as a one of AHRQ’s (Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality) eight health improvement success stories.
  • Having the most up to date data for patient information 24/7 from other contributing SMRTNET Members.
  • Referral Network – Through SMRTNET membership, physicians are encouraged to add providers to their HIE and referral network
  • Prepare for Meaningful Use Stages 2 and 3-HIE required by CMS for meaningful use stages 2 and 3

Integrated Workflow

Registering with SMRTNET provides an easier to use workflow for registering and activating HIE Services. With several different HIE Service available, SMRTNET can meet different practice needs based on a practice's current IT structure.

Most IT services have several steps to get them up and running. SMRTNET HIE Services are no different from other IT Services in this respect. The important thing is providing a way to make this easier for practices to learn about HIE Services, register and go through the process to activate those services easily.
